Culduthel Community Woods

Inverness, Scotland

Welcome!

What an amazing day we had on Sunday 3 July 2022 at our Gathering event to celebrate taking the woods into community ownership. We had well over 200 people there in the afternoon - many more than we expected - and we had a lot of fun.

Very many thanks to Karen Darke for the formal opening, to Matthias Hamilton for piping, for all the speeches (Drew Hendry MP, Cllr Alasdair Christie and Caroline Philips) and to all the activity providers - including Lochardil and Drummond Community Council and Stratherrick Scouts, Inverness and Spokes For Folks. And thanks to local profesional photographer Paul Campbell for the brilliant pictures. This event was part of the Highland Climate Festival organised by Highlands & Islands Climate Hub.

You can see photos (Credit: Paul Campbell) from the event here - and more photos /videos on our Facebook page.

The Culduthel Woods Group is a local charity, run entirely by volunteers and first established in 2018. We aim to protect and improve the woods, to promote education and to encourage community involvement. If you use the woods, or care about what happens there, please join up as a member and support us in other ways.

The Culduthel Woods Group is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (No. SC049665), registered with The Scottish Charity Regulator.
