Work starts on path improvements

We are delighted that work has now started on our path improvement project near to the Mortuary Gates. The work involves four elements - repairing/re-building the stones dykes that are retaining the earth banks; replacing the bumby tarmac with a new smooth surface, installing a new dropped-kerb and providing new path signs. These works will make it easier for a wider range of people to access and enjoy the woods. All the works should be complete by the end of February. The contractors are skilled local firms and include AB Masonry who are leading on all the stonework. Thanks to Walking Scotland and to the Highlands & Islands Climate Hub for funding. We also hope to involve young people from the Inverness Royal Academy in the masonry work. Public access will be retained at all times.
